- Montag meets the other men, and we find outh that there is pretty much a league of these people who hold different stories with them.
- The purpose of these five men are to restore the area they are in of knowledge from the stpries they have remembered, and to help rebuild.

1 Summary Sentence:
Granger compares mankind to a phoenix rising again and again from its own ashes, and comments that they will first need to build a mirror factory to take a long look at themselves. The men turn upriver toward the city to help the survivors rebuild from the ashes.
