-Towards the end, Jakes starts really opening up to God.
-Prayer is T.D. Jakes's way of escaping the world, and trying to connect with God.
-Jakes's mother taught him to always have high standards for himself.
-Jakes feels that he needs more trust and admiration in his wife, because he feels as if he doesn't enough.
-T.D learns that even though you may do something late, that you should always do it because it always counts.

"Mama Made The Difference: Post 4
5 Things I Understand:
-His mother tried to live close to the Lord, and live in His image.
-She tried to teach her son humiliation to God, so that they could live eternally.
-She died while Jakes was egtting his life together.
-Jakes worked ahrd to be able to live up to the standards of his mother and the rest of his family.
-Living a good straight life is very important to his family.

-Did he see it as a good thing when his mother died? (That she was now in Heaven.)
-What was the biggest factor that made him turn his life around?
-What did ROTC teach him in the long-run?
-What kind of effect did Naomi and Ruth have on T.D. Jakes's life?

"Mama Made The Difference" Post 3
5 Things I understand:
-T.D.Jakes lets many different people tell their story in the book.
-This next section basically lets a substiute teacher of him tell her story about her life experiences.
-The substitute basically explains how she wants her son to be proud of her.
-I notice that he has a strong admiration to strong African American leaders.
-His mother seems to have a good head on her shoulders, and thinks very highly of her son; T.D. Jakes.

-If he lets others tell their stories, why is the book really only thanking his mother?
-Why does Jakes's opinion of his mother so important to her?
-Did he ever feel overwhelmed when he was expected to not make any mistakes?
-Were mistakes made seen as a sin or just as a mistake?

"Mama Made the Difference" Post 2
5 Comments:
-Jakes says thast the only reason why he is able to be respnosible is because he observed the hardships his mother had to go through.
-Jakes defines responsibility as not complaining about having to do different tasks even though they may get too hard.
-We get a whole new look at the King family from T.D. Jakes.
-We see how important mothers are to the world, and it is even more portrayed in Bernice King's speech.
-It was a good idea for Jakes to let Bernice tell the story of her parents since she knew them most.

-How come Coretta King stayed with Martin Luther King for so long, if she really wasn't into him?
-Why was Coretta so submissive?
-How did Jakes get the idea to incorporate more than one mother in his biography?

-T.D remembers as a young child how his mother always watched everything he did, to show him whats right and wrong.
-T.D Jakes was taught by his mother to be a strong believer in God.
- T.D believes that the way his mother pressed religion on him, is actually a gift to be thankful for.
-Basically in Jakes begins to talk about how important God is to him.
-We can look to God for help, and for the answers we need.

The Color Purple Movie Post
Things I Understand:
- It is importnat to how the director puts the burden on the black woman.
- The black woman are always in the screen with another person most likely a man, to probably show them inferior.
- Sophia feels unfamiliar with her own family. High and wide shot when she is walking through her family outside. This shows how much people there actually was.
- When SHug is coming to town Albert rushes to get dressed. Close-up, on what he puts on.
- His feet are disgusing, there is a close-up to show how bad his higene is.
- Low shot as Albert bends down to pick up something.
- The frame stays on Mr. Albert as he moves, but then he goes to the background as there is a mid-shot on Celie.
- Low shot following the flyer, then closeup to show what flyer says.
- "I'm not dead" important because it shows that Nettie has had enough stength to live on her own.
- As Nettie is running in Africa there is a pan as the camera follows her. Albert is nothing without Celie. We see as he is drunk a wide shot to see the overall atmosphere of the place he was at.
- At the end, the camera also goes from wide to a close-up. The camera comes closer to Nettie and Celie as they play their hand game.

- Why is everyone in the movie so overemotional?
- What is the significance of Sophia being taken away from her family?
- How does Celie deal with the constant judgement and degrading attitudes?
- Does Shug only get married to show off or to actually changeher ways?
- Why does the begining of the movie start so tragically?
- What does the sun setting as Celie reads the letters symbolize?
- Is Celie content with her new life?
Summary:
Basically the whole movie is about two sisters' paths to find each other once again in order to continue happy lives. We also see the struggles of the Africa American women in the story. "The Color Purple" is a movie where it teacehs out self strength, and how a person shoul do what they want to do, rather than being held down, and what not.

- Celie's real father has passed away, and she has received basically all her father's property.
- Nettie and Celie's children can' get to America without proof.
- Albert has some kind of epiphany, and decides to help get Nettie back into America.
- Celie and Nettie have differnt lives, but still have lots of love for each ther, that had never decreased.
- Why did Albert not get angry when he found out that Celie has become independent?

- Why isn't there a ending where Celie really gets to know her children?
